The deputy speaker for mitooma district who also doubles as the councilor representing kanyabwanga subcounty has requested government to enhance and pay teachers salaries in time if they are to attain quality education in primary schools.
While speaking to www.mknewslink.com, Hon Kapoota highlighted the current outcry of teachers caused by the delay of their salaries for two months which has put the whole education sector at stake .
Kapoota also added that current requirement of a degree for all primary teachers is not considerate since their salaries a very low for mandatory requirement which must be revisited and amended with immediate effect.
The ministry of education headed by its minister of education and first lady Ms Janet Museveni started implementing a policy 2019 for every primary teacher and even Pre-primary/nursery to have a degree from grade three requirement in the next 10 years. However Ms Museveni said this week said that the mandatory degree will take shape after the law has been put in place.
