Butuuro sacco headquartered in Nyakabirizi division in Bushenyi district has registered a profit excess of 400m in six months. This is according to the General Manager of the sacco Mr. Komunda Denis.
He noted that the board that sat early this year set a target to management of 2.05billion but in six months the profit made is at 1.4bn instead of 1.025billion.
He revealed to www.mknewslink.com MD an exclusive interview July 25, 2025 that the above milestone has been possible because of good working relationship between the board and management as well members of the sacco.
He added that the Butuuro sacco has 5 branches with a membership of 21,000 and a loan portfolio of 19.7 billion.
GM Komunda also added that the sacco is running a loan amnesty to those members who got challenges in paying their loans. He said that it started in May 2025 and will end on August 31 this year.
He went ahead to add that in the amnesty, members come to the sacco and explain in details of what happened to them, a solution is undertaken which include among others rescheduling the loans.
Still he said that they have their funeral product where a member after dying, the family is given 3m from sacco savings not from members cash. What is required is 15 shares and an active account within six months.
He called upon members to use digital banking to withdraw and save for the needs without spending transport going to branches.
He encouraged members and non-members to save, open accounts, buy shares and take loans and pay in time.
