Police in Rubanda district is investigating the murder of 65-year-old man.
The deceased is Zaverio Ruhugye, a resident of Nyakayenje cell, Kitojo parish, Bubare Sub-County Rubanda district.
The deceased’s body was yesterday found lying along the road to his home.
According to reports, Ruhugye Zaverio had gone to Hakabungo Trading Centre for leisure on the evening of August 16, 2025, but never returned home.
His wife searched for him at the trading centre but couldn’t find him. The next morning, his son, Agaba Urban, discovered the lifeless body while walking from the trading centre.
The police responded promptly, examining and documenting the crime scene, and conducting a postmortem.
The Kigezi region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate encourages anyone with information that can lead to the perpetrators to come forward to help bring them to justice.
Maate says investigations are ongoing, and the police are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding Ruhugye Zaverio’s tragic death.
