EDUCATIONIST TURYAHIKAYO IS DEAD

The retired Principal education officer Mbarara District; Charles Turyahikayo has passed on.
Turyahikayo was pronounced dead Tuesday morning 30.01.2018 at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital where he had been battling heart complications over the last one week.
At the time of his death, Turyahikayo was serving as the vice chairperson construction committee and advisor fathers union All Saints church Mbarara Municipality.
Born in 1947 at Nyakarambi Mparo now Rukiga District, Turyahikayo attended Kihanga PS and Kigezi High school, diploma in education before he joined Kyamboga University where he attained degree in Agriculture.
He was education officer in districts of Kabale, Bushenyi and Mbarara until 2007 when he retired from civil service.
Birungi Shallon Muhangi; the sub county chief Rugarama Ntungamo District a second born daughter said her father Turyahikayo made significant contributions to the education sector while serving as head teacher of Kyanamira and Bubaare P/ Schools, Education officer amongst others.
According to Chief Shallon Muhangi there will be a requiem mass today Wednesday at All Saints church Mbarara thereafter the body will be taken to Nyakarambi Rwamucuucu Mparo Rukiga district for the night vigil and the burial will be on Thursday 01.02.2018.
The late Charles Turyahikayo leaves behind a widow, six children and twelve grand children.
