BUSHENYI HIGH COURT CONVICTS GIRL FOR DEFILING 14 YEAR OLD BOY, INFECTING HIM WITH HIV

High court in Bushenyi yesterday convicted an 18 year old Girl on charges of aggravated defilement.
Court presided over by Mbarara resident judge Joyce Kavuma heard that in December 2016 while in Butare, kyamuhunga Babrah Nahamya a student on several occasions had sexual intercourse with a 14 year old Kato Davis of the same location well knowing she was HIV positive.
It also had that she lured Davis into leaving school so that they could live together as wife and husband.
She pleaded not guilty saying Davis was nolonger in school and that it was him who approached her for a relationship.
She was convicted of aggravated defilement, and is supposed to appear before the same court on 7th September 2018 to be sentenced.
The prosecution side asked the judge to design an appropriate punishment that will send a message to all those involved in such malicious acts.
