Bushenyi district NRM structure elections slated for Friday May 23, 2025 have turned into a center of greed and high-level bribery.
There are two positions that have turned absolutely commercial; Bushenyi district NRM Chairman and vice chairperson.
The two positions are being competed for by Tycoon Hassan Basajabalaba and hon. Annet Katusiime Mugisha district woman MP and wife to MD National water and sewerage corporation.
What has turned to be funny is that the more they buy their opponents, the newer ones get nominated to join the race and compete with the two Bushenyi giants.
One of the candidates for NRM district vice chairperson Ms Farida Mutambara told www.mknewslink.com MD Wednesday afternoon that she cant be bought out of the race and will conclude the exercise Friday and get results.
She accused Hon. Annet Mugisha of being greedy by wanting to take up almost all the positions available; Bushenyi district woman MP and NRM district vice chairperson.
Ms Mutambara added that Hon Annet Mugisha doesn’t want to groom young women leaders but wants to suffocate those who come up to lead.
She added that she is doing this [Hon. Annet] because she doesnot have a strong contender for Bushenyi district woman MP.
“For that matter therefore am declaring to contest for Bushenyi district woman MP in NRM primaries to be held in July 2025. This is now clear that am ready to defeat Hon. Annet Mugisha” Ms Mutambara vowed
