Bushenyi police are investigating circumstances surrounding a case where a cadet police officer shot and killed a civilian in Kizinda town.
According to the greater Bushenyi regional police commander, Eddie Serunjoji the cadet assistant supretendant of police John Rothomoi killed Kamadhi Barija Friday night Jan. 19, 2018.
RPC Serunjoji added that prior to the shooting ASP Rothomoi was beaten by a group of people and even lost his two teeth.
Sources added that after the fight, the accused police officer went to KIU western campus police post where he has been working as OC and picked a gun rode his motorcycle and met Kamadhi and shot him dead.
Sources told www.mknewslink.com news website editor that the late kamadhi and group wanted to forcefully remove a gun from him hence the police officer decided to shoot one of them dead.
Cadet supretendant of police Rothomoi was still doing his internship and this means that his career in police has started with very big challenges.
RPC Serunjoji noted that investigators have already ascertained that cadet Rothomoi is one who shot but investigations are still on going.
He added that police has already spoken to the family members to explain to them preliminary investigation report. He said that burial for the late Kamadhi is today.

Buhweju Resident District Commissioner (RDC) has clashed with area Member of Parliament Mwijukye Francis over Robert Kyagulanyi’s visit in the district.

The RDC Emmy Katera Turyabagyenyi yesterday didn’t want Kyagulanyi the Kyadondo East MP in his area of jurisdiction on assumption that he would politically mislead youths in Buhweju district who were participating in different sports activities at Nsika playground.

He also said Robert Kyagulanyi who had been invited by Mwijukye Francis, has specialized in abusing the President and his government and therefore the local leadership cannot entertain him because he is not friendly and relevant to youths cause and mounted several check points to restrict him from accessing the district.

But Mwijukye Francis disagreed with the RDC claiming that there is no law in Uganda that stops certain people from visiting specific places on orders of few individuals.
He further said that even such a leader restricting people from outside to visit Buhweju is also not a native of the area adding that he only came in the district for work.
He said such a practice is not good because it may lead to ethnic discrimination in the country and urged out that the country must be led basing on the available laws.
Western Uganda youth MP Mwine Mpaka who was the chief guest at the function said people in opposition have not specialized in abusing President or Government but they are just playing roles of presiding over change adding that this exactly happened at parliament and this shouldn’t cause any alarm in the society which subscribe to different political groups in the country.
Kyagulanyi later sneaked and straightly went to the podium and said he is in the district in good faith and called on youths to rise up and take leadership roles at various levels in the country before he entertained people with some of his popular songs.

Bushenyi district council has resolved to give one percent to youth friendly services as one way of supporting youth activities in their respective areas in the district.
According to the chairperson finance committee, Mr. Adam Kyakuwa who is also the lc5 councilor for Nyabubare sub-county says they have allocated 1% for the financial year 2018/ 2019 to all sub-counties within Bushenyi District to support youth friendly services for example; accessing free Sexual Education, Family planning methods, HIV/AID Testing and counseling on all Healthy Centers.

Kyakuwa appealed to all youth with in Bushenyi District to make sure every Thursday of the week, they go to their respective Healthy centers to get free services.
This resolution was passed yesterday during a district council meeting held at Bushenyi district headquarters. The council meeting was chaired by its speaker Ms Justine Burisadi.
Meanwhile councilors warned the district engineer Mr Kiiza Monipar for not performing his duties especially roads which are in bad conditions like Nyabubare and using Government funds for their Own businesses but not government businesses.

Hajji Idd Basajabalaba is the son of one of the richest men in East Africa, TYCOON HAJJI HASSAN BASAJABALABA. He is 29 years old but has already completed his masters Degree in Law from a London prestigious University.

Soft spoken and down to earth young man is currently a managing director of global Village Tea factory situated in Kyamuhunga town council in Bushenyi district. www.mknewslink.com managing editor WILBER MUHWEZI-KASIBANTE sat with him for 30 minutes to share his life experience, education, his childhood and future plans below are the excepts.

QN: Where did you go to school?

ANS: I went to Kashozi boarding primary school in Igara West in Bushenyi district for primary education. After Kashozi, I went to Kiburi senior secondary school for ordinary level [O’LEVEL] and then to Kawempe Moslem school for Advanced level. —–

QN: Which was your best subject in primary and secondary levels?

ANS: My best subject in primary school was social studies whereas in O’level and A’levels was History.

QN: How do you find it to be born by a parent who is extremely rich?

ANS: I find it normal but the only difference is that you learn a lot of things at a young age. Generally it’s a good learning experience.

QN: Which is your favorite meal?

ANS: Matooke and beans.

QN: What do you do during your free time?

ANS: Am all the time coordinating Business. I like trading. I don’t read any books. I finished reading books. Am now concentrating on business.

QN: Do you have a girl friend?

ANS: Yes, I have girl friend and we have a seven month baby called Aklan. My fiancé is called Tanisha aka Lenate.

QN: When do you intend to get married officially?

ANS: We are still planning for our wedding party to make our marriage official.

QN: When do you intend to do your PhD because your father believes too much in higher education?

ANS: I don’t find it important to do a PhD at this point in time. I want first concentrate on business. Mybe the issue of doing a PhD will come later in future. But for now, let me do business.

QN: Most of the youth like staying in cities but why is it that for you like upcountry especially Bushenyi district?

ANS: My business focus is now in upcountry towns like Bushenyi but when time comes and I have a need to go to the cities, I will do it.

QN: What do you want to be in the next 20 years?

ANS:I cannot gauge myself at this time because I have just finished one year trading. Therefore its hard to forecast myself in next 20 years.

QN:Your father Hajj Hassan Basajabalaba likes politics too much, would you also want to join at some point in future?

ANS: I don’t find any problem with politics but its too early to tell you that I want to join politics.

QN: Would you want to start a charity organization in future to help the needy because people who know you well say you are generous?

ANS: As a lawyer, I want to start a legal aid purposely to sensitize people of this area on land rights, domestic rights, succession, land distribution and human rights generally.

QN: What is your last word?

ANS: I want to appeal to young people like me to work hard. Majority young people don’t want to work. Its absurd.

QN: But they graduate and can’t find jobs for even more than five years and they are just walking on streets?

ANS: This goes back to the question you asked me, why am upcountry whereas young people like me want to be in cities all the time? My simple and humble advice to those graduates is to go back to their villages and use their parents’ land to do agriculture. They should first settle in the villages do agriculture and after gaining capacity then go back to cities and towns.

Socialite Bad Black real names Shanita Namuyimbwa has finally given
her life to God after she confessed her sins on Sunday as Pastor
Robert Kayanja and his wife led her in salvation prayer during the
morning service at Rubaga Miracle Centre.

After exhausting all her options, Bad Black accompanied by
her Son decided to seek in God.

It should be noted that Bad Black has claimed to be christian since
she left jail. Recently, the ex-prisoner shared a video clip while
she was preaching.

The hopes of a medal at the Rio Olympics by many Ugandans were dashed after Stephen Kiprotich failed to retain his marathon title.
Kiprotich, champion at the London Games four years ago, vanished in the wet conditions as Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge won the men’s 42km race in Sambrodromo on Sunday.
Kipchoge, the second fastest man in the marathon ever, came home in 2:08:44. It now means that the Kenyan has won seven of the eight career marathons he has done.
Kiprotich finished a distant 14th, some four minutes and 48 seconds after Kipchoge.
The expectations of the nation slowly faded away after about 29km. Kipchoge and a pack of nine other runners including Kiprotich’s compatriot Solomon Mutai uped the pace.
The field eventually broke into clusters, leaving Kipchoge, Ethiopian Feyisa Lelisa and American Rupp Galen in the lead.
The trio confirmed their medal positions in the order but Galen, running only his second marathon, had to wade off a challenge from reigning World champion Eritrean Ghirmay Ghebreslassie.
Mutai came in eighth place while the other Ugandan Jackson Kiprop dropped out of the race, the final athletics event of the Olympic Games.

Uganda RnB singer Ronald Magada aka Maro has reportedly extended his 2016 concert to early next year 2017.
The self-proclaimed RnB Kyabazinga is said to have extended his concert since on the same day he will be engaged with his volumes up record studio as well as performing at the regional club Dome events which are fixed at the same date.

“Maro is currently busy at his new studio Volumes Up Record and is also one of the artistes lined up to perform at the regional Club Dome events which collide with the date he had chosen for his concert. But he sat with his management and they decided to push the concert to early next year,” a source said.

Ugandan comedian, Anne Kansiime proved why she is referred to as
Africa’s Queen of Comedy when she performed for thousands of fans at
the Let’s Laugh Again comedy show at the Harare International
Conference Centre in Zambabwe on Saturday night.

Kansiime kept the audience laughing throughout her performance as she
sang, danced and made jokes about the issues in Zimbabwe.

The comedian after her sold out show took to Social Media to thank the
fans for turning out in large numbers.

“The whole of Zimbabwe showed up for me tonight (Saturday). I came for
a show and it turned out to be a census where 5000 plus Ninjas came to
show me love. I feel pregnant,” Anne Kansiime wrote on Facebook

This was Kansiime’s second time to perform in Zimbabwe. She first
performed in the country in 2015 at a sold out show held at the 7 Arts
Theatre, which forced promoters to organize a second show that also
sold out

MUSICIAN KID FOX SET TO RETURN TO UGANDA

Close to 2 years, rumors circulated in Uganda that the reggae reggae artiste Kidfox was allegedly arrested and sentenced to death in Japan for drug trafficking however soon after, the rumor was watered down when the singer came out to clear the air about the same subject matter.

Nimechoka hit maker came out clearly to inform Ugandans that he was never reprimanded for drug trafficking but was another matter altogether and he was much alive which brought a smile on many people’s faces who had given up on their singer.

Since then, we have been following his routines and Kidfox has been trying hard to have a comeback hit that would set yet a another mile stone in his music career however this seems to have been long overdue and therefore made people think that probably he might have quit the industry for good.
