In Bushenyi—

The deputy head of mission to Benelux countries and the European Union to Brussels, Amb. Franklin R. Katungwe together with his wife Margrate flew in this week to send off his brother and former minister Lay Can Azaria Baryaruha.

Amb. Katungwe told www.mknewslink.com editor that he failed to attend the burial on Wednesday  21st July 2021 because of flight problems but made it after the burial Thursday and laid wreath.

On Thursday 22nd July 2021 , Amb. Katungwe led by St. Paul COU Kyeitembe choir laid the wreath on the tomb of his late brother.

The Ambassador was also assisted by Kyeitembe cou Rev. Chris Atuhwerire who prayed for eternal rest of Azaria Baryaruha.

Amb. Katugwe hailed emeritus Bishop Yonah Katoneene and the serving  Bishop of west Ankole diocese RT Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni for leading service at the burial on Wednesday.

He also hailed friends and the community for contributing towards the burial expenses.

Former Minister Baryaruha was described by many including his son and hair Marvin Baryaruha as a very brilliant man who was one of  the first Uganda’s university graduates.

In Bushenyi—

The resigned Bushenyi Ishaka municipal Eng. Deus Nuwagaba was last week arrested and detained at Bushenyi police cells for two hours for abusing his former supervisor the town clerk David Betega

The abuses were showered to the former town clerk who is now the acting Chief Administrative Officer for Butambala district on a municipal staff whatsapp group.

Eng. Deus showered derogatory abuses to his former boss accusing him of forcing him to resign when actually the engineer tendered in his resignation willingly and was accepted by his boss.

According to a senior CID source at greater Bushenyi police station, Eng. Deus was charged with three counts; computer misuse, cyber harassment and threatening violence.

“We would have held him as a senior officer without taking him to cells but he behaved in a funny way by refusing to take a statement,” the source told www.mknewslink.com

He will be reporting to Bushenyi police station regularly to renew his bond.

Eng. Deus with other two were interdicted on the orders of the minister of local government Rapheal Magezi in March last year for extreme corruption.

The former treasurer Jackson Beyendeza was retired in public interest after conviction at anti-corruption court in Kampala and Eng. Deus resigned after pressure was mounted on him and there remains the procurement officer Roberto Nuwagira who is lonely at the work station.

In Kisoro—

Kisoro district LCV Chairperson Abel Bizimana has cast doubt on Kabale tycoon George William Kanagizi’s appointment as presidential adviser on Kisoro affairs.

Recently, it was rumored that George William Kanagizi who is also the Kaharo sub county NRM chairperson was appointed the senior presidential adviser on Kisoro affairs.

Speaking to www.mknewslink.com reporter, Abel Bizimana said that if it’s true, president Museveni should have appointed someone from Kisoro district as a presidential advisor on Kisoro affairs than appointing a person from Kabale district.

He said that Kisoro has many people who have comprehensive knowledge about the district and can serve better as senior presidential advisors.

Abel Bizimana however welcomed the move to appoint a senior presidential advisor, a position which has never existed before.

He said that his Excellency president Museveni might have sensed something fishy in Kisoro district to appoint advisor on Kisoro affairs for the first time.

Before, the president had only presidential advisor on Kigezi affairs, a position which has been occupied by the late Canon Bitunguramye.

According to Abel Bizimana, Kisoro district is benefiting little on the national cake due to lack representation in the central government.

Meanwhile: Abel Bizimana vowed not to apologize after he alleged during a district council meeting on 29 March 2021 that the first family has bias on Kisoro district.

The councilor representing Nyundo subcounty Kosamu Kakyiga moved a motion compelling Abel Bizimana to apologize over the utterances made against first family.

Parental Care primary school Bushenyi PLE star Ronnet Ainembabazi wants to become an engineer.

Ainembabazi gunned 7 aggregates ; Maths 2, English 2 SST 2 and Science 1

She has told www.mknewslink.com  that she prays that God helps her to achieve her childhood dream.

Asked on why she doesnt choose being a doctor to help with the current situation of COVID 19, Ainembabazi told www.mknewslink.com editor that engineers are better off that doctors in terms in working conditions and payment.

She added that many health workers have died during this COVID 19 pandemic because of lack of care from authorities.

Speaking from their home in Kyitookye Bushenyi town , Ainembabazi’s parents; Moses Arinaitwe and Immaculate Nshemereirwe revealed that she has performed well though they expected her to get four aggregates but couldn’t make it because of  COVID 19.

Ainembabazi will join Immaculate heart  SSS Nyakibale for her senior one when schools resume operations.

In Bushenyi—

The minister of local government Raphael Magyezi has revealed that his ministry will this financial year start constructing a market in Bushenyi- Ishaka municipality.

He noted that the 20 billion market will be constructed at the premises where the current market stands.

The minister revealed these yesterday 14^th July 2021 while touring the site with municipal leaders.

Magyezi noted that the market will be constructed using funds from African development Bank (ADB) MTIP project.

He explained that the market will be a business giant in greater Bushenyi because most of the businesses will be connected to the market.

The market will also help the community in the parish model Development model where people are supposed to produce commodities for sell and increasing household incomes at the parish level.

He urged market vendors to form an association which will handle the affairs of the new market when opens.

He added that he doesn’t want the issue of absent landlords to arise after construction and they disturb status quo.

He said that they will produce a modern design for the market which will guide the contractor to come up with a magnificent traders market.

The minister revealed that the traders in the current market will be relocated to a suitable place as construction commences.

In Kabale—

The former Prime Minister of Uganda John Patrick Amama Mbabazi has assured the country that he is still a member of NRM and in the Government.

The former Premier and one-time presidential candidate made the remarks at the sendoff of his in-law, the late Joy Lydia Ntegyereize Zatwoshaho, who is an elder sister to his wife Jacqueline Mbabazi.

The requiem service took place at her home in Mwanjari in Kabale Municipality yesterday morning and was later laid to rest in Nyakasiru village in Bukinda , Rukiga District.

Speaking at the function on behalf of the Government, Mbabazi revealed that people have been telling him of how they expected him to be on the list in the first three cabinet Ministers which was in vain.

He said that he is one of the people who started NRM and can never exit the party and therefore, as long as the NRM is in the government, he is in the government too.

“It is clear that just like many of the people in Uganda expected me in the new Cabinet since I was seen closer to the President on several functions including the swearing in, the President of Uganda did the reverse and rather followed the footsteps of Jesus by choosing fishermen from the local people,” He noted.

In Hoima–

Residents of Runga village Kigorobya Constituency in Hoima district were left in chock after their village mate appeared after his burial.

According to the area chairperson Charles Owechi, Oryema went fishing on Lake Albert but didn’t come back only for his family to be informed that he had died.

The chairperson said that family members picked up body which they supposed was for Oryema and buried it but were surprised to see the ‘deceased’ come back home from fishing.

“The body was buried yesterday evening, and it has been exhumed today morning, it’s still at my area of residence. I have already communicated with the management of Hoima Regional Referral Hospital, and they have agreed to come tomorrow and do a postmortem,” Owechi told our reporter yesterday.

In Rwampara—

Mwizi Health Centre III in-charge Fredrick Byanyima has been interdicted for Stealing COVID 19 testing kits.

The in-charge’s interdiction was confirmed by the Rwampara Resident District Commissioner Emmy Kateera Turyabagyenyi yesterday in an interview with www.mknewslink.com reporter.

Byanyima was first arrested in Feb. 2021 on the orders of the Resident District commissioner (RDC) Emmy Kateera Turyabagyenyi after he failed to account for 6 hospital beds and their mattresses all valued at 7.3 million that were missing from his facility.

He was later released while the investigations into the matter are still underway.

Byanyima was arrested again on the 29^th June.2021 by Police for stealing three packets of COVID 19 Rapid testing kits from Mwizi Health Center III.

According to the RDC, the in-charge confessed to taking the testing kits and was thus submitted to service commission for interdiction over the misconduct.

In Rubanda—

Police in Rubanda are investigating circumstances under which a 32 year old man was assaulted to death.

Kigezi Regional police spokesperson Elly Maate identified the deceased as Nicholas Kanyesige of Mumwiga cell Kashenyi parish Bubare sub county Rubanda.

Maate told www.mknewslink.com that the deceased was allegedly assaulted by one Kiiza a resident of Buzoba cell Bubare parish/ Sub County who is currently on the run.

“It’s alleged that on the morning of 07/07/2021 at around 08:00hrs at Kimusa B” cell Ihanga parish Bubare sub county, the suspect who is a shamba boy in the home of Paul Kataratambi saw the deceased heading to his worker place and suspected he was a thief,” Maate noted.

Maate narrated that the deceased who wore only a trouser was suspected   to be a wrong person not knowing that he was mentally sick thus the suspect caught up with him near a house under construction, assaulted and killed him instantly.

Police were notified, visited the scene and body was taken to Kabale referral hospital for postmortem.

Inquiries are at hand as well as hunting for the suspect so  he is brought to book.

In Rukungiri—

Police in Rukungiri are holding a 65 year old district councilor who allegedly killed his biological son over neighbor’s shs 4000.

The suspect Evart John Magara is the Rukungiri district male workers councilor and a resident of Maaya Cell, Kitimba ward, Western Division in Rukungiri Municipality.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional police Spokesperson told www.mknewslink.com that John Magara allegedly killed his son Nuwagaba Everdi alias Rwamutwe male adult aged 32 yrs a farmer resident of the same area.

Maate narrated that one of the residents identified as Onesmus Turyazayo gave shs 5000 to Rwamutwe so that he could deduct his shs1000 and return the balance but the deceased did not come back.

Turyazayo later reported the matter to the father who started to hunt for Rwamutwe until they found him at the mother’s shop where the father beat him to death.

The mother of deceased rushed to police and reported a case of murder after which took action and arrested the suspect

Police took the body to Rwakabengo Health Centre III for postmortem as police investigate a murder case at Rukungiri Central Police station under reference number SD 43/03/06/2021.
