DON’T CLOSE ANKOLE WESTERN UNIVERSITY LIKE MAKERERE–EDUCATION MINISTER

State minister for higher education Cyrostom John Miyingo yesterday warned the management of ankole western University in sheema district not mismanage it and lead to its closure like what happened to makerere university recently.

Minister miyingo said this during the fourth graduation of the young university at Nganwa hill.
He noted that the government closed makerere because it had become unmanageable.
The vice chancellor, Dr. Edidah Mujinya told the well attended graduation that a total of 657 students were awarded diplomas and certificates in fields of study.

She noted that the students who were graduating were for academic years of 2015 and 2016. He noted that those for degrees offered under Uganda Christian university through its constituent college, Bishop barham university college have already graduated.

Dr. Eliod Tumwesigye, area MP, hailed the vision bearers of the university like retired bishops William Magambo, Yoram Bamunoba and Yona Katoneene for steering the university vision to reality.

Politicians; Jemima Buhanda former deputy speaker for greater Bushenyi and Katuramunda former speaker for Kabwohe-Itendero Town council were offered first class certificates in two different fields.
