Henry Kyarimpa Kiviri the aspirant for Member of Parliament for Kabale municipality responded to the president’s call and donated to the national task force in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
Kyarimpa who is also the head of legal and corporate affairs at Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) has early this week donated 3000 kgs of maize flour to the Kabale District COVID-19 task force to support the poor and vulnerable families in the district.
The donation was handed over to the district task force by Janet Rwaheru Kabale District health officer who represented Mr. Kyarimpa and received by Ronald Kasheija the Kabale District Internal Security Officer.
According to Rwaheru, the donation will go to the vulnerable families especially the people with disabilities, the widows, orphans, child headed families and people who cannot afford meals due to the lock down.
“This is just a start. Kyarimpa is mobilizing more relief donations to help the people of Kabale Municipality in the fight against Corona virus. He understands the plight of the poor and his long term plan for the municipality is to empower everyone to be able to earn a dignified income to take good care of themselves and their families,†Ms Rwaheru said.
She reiterated the president’s call to the public to continue observing the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health such as social distancing, washing and sanitizing often and staying home when one has a fever, cold or cough.
Kasheija commended Kyarimpa for thinking about the people of Kabale especially during such hard time of corona virus.
He vowed to make sure that the donation shall reach out to the very vulnerable people in Kabale.
