KIU MEDICAL PROFESSORS WITCH DOCTOR CASE: SUSPECTS DENIED BAIL AFTER THREE MONTHS IN PRISON

The Chief magistrates court in Mitooma has today denied bail to 6 people accused of conning a professor of KIU of 245,090,000m, and advised them to apply for it in the high court.
The accused are, Bampabura Geoffrey Karakore key accused, Kyomuhangi Jennifer,Kyoshabire Rosette,Areba Ivan,Turyatunga Augustine and Natukunda Clemensia all residents of Kashenshero ,Mitooma and relatives to Bampabura.
Court presided over by Jane Mugarura heard that starting 18th June 2018, professor Nshaho Jonathan of Rwemirokora while trying to recover his cow, was on different occasions conned of his money by a man who identified himself as Byaruhanga whose real name is Bampabura Geoffrey Karakore of Kanshenshero Mitooma .
During a court hearing, Nshaho revealed that when he had shortly reached Bampaburas home, two men who claimed that they were the thieves that had always stolen his cows from his farm in Ibanda also arrived.
He noted that the witch doctor told him to ask for compensation as his cows had been slaughtered thus could not be brought back. He added that he asked for 20m but Bampabura the witchdoctor refused that it was little and instead instructed the thieves to bring 40m the following day.
It is alleged that Bampabura continuously instructed the professor to bring his money for cleansing before he could mix it with the recovered money claiming that any money not cleansed would cause calamity in Nshahos family until it topped to 245090,000.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the allegations saying he had never seen the professor until he was arrested on 7th July 2018.
