MOB LYNCHES 75-YEAR OLD WOMAN IN RWAMPARA

Police in Rwampara District are investigating circumstances under which a 75-year-old Jadress Kansiime a peasant and a resident of Kashuro cell, Bujaaga Ward , Buteraniro Nyeihanga Town council , Rwampara district was on Wednesday night mob Lynched by angry residents who were revenging after her son Frank Mutatina 42- together with other accomplices attacked and injured one of the residents identified as David Mpeirwe 51 on Wednesday night.
SP Steven Kamar the Rwampara District Police Commander confirmed the gruesome incident noting and that the fracas started when Mutatina together with other yet to be identified accomplices waylaid Mpeirwe David a businessman in the area cut him severally on the forehead before leaving him struggling for life.
SP Kamar says locals who were attracted to the scene by an alarm identified the victim(Mpeirwe) who mentioned the name of Mutatina as they rushed him to Mbarara regional referral hospital where he is nursing woods
In retaliation,DPC Kamar adds that angry residents attacked the home of Mutatina’s mother, destroying her banana plantation, and killed her before setting her house ablaze.
The DPC further states that Police received a call from one the residents identified as a one Asaph-66- around 11:00Pm who briefed the cops that on the 23rd.Nov.2022 at around 11:00Pm a female juvenile who is 9-year-old granddaughter to the deceased was in the house sleeping with her grandmother when the house was rocked by stones being thrown by a crowd of boda boda cyclicts.
He says after receiving the information, Police from Kinoni Police Station Swung into action and cordoned off the scene and examined the body.
SP Kamar adds that police findings have it that the mob which caused murder,arson and malicious damage were following a previous incident in which Mutatina stole valuables in the area.
SP Kamar says police has launched a hunt for Mutatina who is needed on charges of attemped murder .He cautions people to desist from mob justice
