Like today’s saying that it is not over until it is finished, Grace Church Christians in Kabwohe are praying from alongside the road due to denial of access to their church by the wife of the Reverend after blocking the way heading at the church recently.
It is alleged that on 4th May 2019, Jeninah Nshemereirwe a wife to Rev Bampata using employees of her college (Taremwa College) at night, blocked the road heading to Grace Church which crosses into her land.
Last Sunday, Christians jumped the logs she had used to block the road and they accessed church services, this seemed to have annoyed Jeninah and after few days she was prompted to fence the road with about 7 barbed wires.
On Sunday 26th may2019, Christians were seen praying from alongside Mbarara-Ishaka-Kasese highway near their church after failing to access it however, the preaching was only about on Rev Bampata and his wife.
Pastor Norman Vicent Mugarura revealed his worry to the government leaders especially those of Sheema district for neither helping them nor trying to show interest in their saga. “people have killed themselves because of just an inch of land but I wonder seeing among Sheema leaders, no one has ever come to us to listen our issues yet they got time to come into our church for prayers in times of elections, even the police where we ran for help , they instead added more problems. My God, aren’t we Ugandans, don’t we vote like others, why always us born agains,” Mugarura complained.
According to senior pastor Mugarura, they have been praying from their church since 15th December 1998 and that they have never failed to access their church at any time of need until today when a wife to Reverend blocked their way.
He added that they have been neighboring several people who kept on changing until Jeninah became their neighbor, but that among the neighbors they have ever had, Jeninah Bampata has become a big wall for them.
He however vowed that they will keep on praying from the high way until God answers their prayers.
