six people in Masindi have been arrested for allegedly killing a 31 year old man in Kituuka village Pakanyi sub county Masindi district over mercury deal.
It is alleged that a one JoabKyalisima claimed he had brought mercury from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and urgently needed buyers.
JoabKyalisiima was killed by unknown people on the 27th December 2018 over mercury deal and his lifeless body was later discovered in a maize plantation on Saturday by the people who were going to fetch water
According to Samuel Odongo the district police commanderMasindi, tragedy came after Kyalisiima failed to deliver mercury he had promised to the buyers adding that when he delivered it, the buyers realized that it was fake and the fracas started.
Odongo told www.mknewslink.com that police arrested six people on the 29th December 2018 and they include two police officers from Nabweru police station whose names were withheld. The officer also declined to divulge the details of the other four suspects.
He added that they are in the process of bringing back the culprits to Masindi noting that they are going to be charged with three counts of murder, kidnap and arson
Odongo added that the father to the deceased was also released from Nansana police station and he has joined his family members. Earlier on it had been alleged that the father to the deceased had been kidnaped.
Odongo added that deceased was buried yesterday at his ancestral home in Kituuka vallage, Kihaguzipariash Pakanyi sub county Masindi district.
