Mbarara high court deputy registrar has given a green light to court brokers of best associated auctioneers and court bailiff to sell the popular kabagarame pork market, residential house of the town clerk among others.
The registrar ordered that the property be sold in 30 days to raise money to cover costs of the court case in which Manfred Muhumuza and others defeated the municipality in chief magistrates court, high court, and court of appeal over park land.
According to the town clerk Didas Muhanguzi, the municipal authorities are trying their best to clear Manfred of 187 million shillings as the court costs.
On the other hand, he noted that the government valuer is coming to confirm if the park land is worth the alleged 1.6billion and then they decide on how to raise the funds.
Mayor Kamugasha told www.mknewslink.com on phone that the council recommended that the municipality should clear Manfred Muhumuza and his colleagues of the costs though they did not specify on the source on money.
