Uganda Communication Commission a body that is mandated to regulate and license online communication has finally renewed mknewslink.com’s licence amidst hurdles generated by haters.
According to Ms Irene Kaggwa-Sewankambo the UCC Executive director, mknewslink.com is allowed to publish professional news to all western Ugandans that live in Kigezi, Rwenzori, Ankole and Bunyoro.
She added that the certificate issued is for only one year and the company had to first pay money in dollars
Ms Kaggwa noted that they are about 600 newspapers on line but less than 100 are licensed with UCC.
He revealed that she is going to crack a whip and block all those websites that are on line but have no licence from UCC.
Mknewslink.com opened shop on Sept 20th, 2013 and it has been paying for its licence since UCC started the system of licensing online newspapers.
The managing director Wilber Muhwezi Kasibante revealed that there were some people who wanted to block the license of his website but they could not manage since he is smarter than them.
Blocking of the licence came as a result of mknewslink.com writing bitter truths.
