The political land scape in the smallest municipality of Bushenyi Ishaka is already heated up amongst the three strong contenders for the parliamentary NRM party flap.
The leading contenders are; Hajji Idd Basajabalaba the son of East Africa’s tycoon Hassan Basajabalaba. The second candidate is counsel Marvin Baryaruha who is in the race for the second time. The third candidate is counsel Nicholas Muhereza Ndyakira.
The race became sluggish after the withdrawal from running for the seat by the Incumbent Hon.Derrick Kabura but Marvin who was still contemplating at the time came in with vigor and the race is now tight.
Hajji Idd Basajabalaba has extended electricity to all peri-urban areas of the municipality whereas Marvin Baryaruha promises to turn Kabagarame international pork market into half London once voted in.
Hajji Idd Basaja has offered 150 university scholarships to students in the three divisions that make up the municipality that was born in July 2010. The divisions are; Ishaka, Central division and Nyakabirizi.

Cls Marvin Baryaruha also asserts that he worked hard while not MP and made St. Augustine vocational sss Ruharo in central division government aided. He promises to do more in the same area of education when voted to parliament 2026—2031.
Cls Muhereza Ndyakira promises to build a factory in the constituency to help on jobs of the young people which are a big problem. He added that he is one of the directors of BFM radio which has gone a long way to sensitize the public on developmental activities.
All the major three religions are represented; Hajji Idd Basaja is a Moslem whereas counsels, Baryaruha and Ndyakira are protestant and catholic respectively.
