Police in Kabale District have arrested a man for allegedly murdering his mother by assault.
According to the Kigezi Regional Police, the suspect, Habert Byomuhangi allegedly assaulted his mother at around 9:00 p.m. on 28 July 2026, inflicting injuries that resulted into her death
The deceased identified as Mary Kyarimpa, 52, is a resident of Nyamabale Village, Bushuro Parish, Kitumba Sub-county, Kabale District.
Police responded to the incident and arrested the suspect to assist with investigations.
“The motive behind the alleged attack is yet to be established, but our team is on the ground to investigations”, said SP Nelson Tumushime the Kigezi regional police spokesperson.
He added that the suspect remains in police custody as inquiries continue.
