BUSHENYI MUNICIPAL COUNCILORS PETITION KADAGA OVER MP’S FAILURE TO CONSULT THEM ON AGE LIMIT

Bushenyi Ishaka municipal councilors have resolved to write to the speaker of Parliament; Hon.Rebbecca Kadaga accusing their area MP;Gordon Arinda Cowboy of ignoring the voters while making consultation on the contentious age limit bill that seeks to amend article 102(b) of the constitution.
In their meeting held today morning at municipality hall in Bushenyi town to under the chairmanship of Milton Betungura resolved to write a letter to the speaker of Parliament Hon.Kadaga asking her why their area Mp Hon. Cowboy Arinda has not yet consulted the electorate on the article 102(b) of the constitution.
The councilors added that when Hon. Cowboy called them for a meeting they went to the venue and waited for him but he could not come.
They accuse the Mp of diverting the consultation funds to his personal benefits instead of consulting the electorate.
Keneth Kitunzi; a councilor form Ward B Bushenyi-lshaka municipality said that Hon. Cowboy has at several times failed to support the council resolutions citing a plan to relocate Basajja market from the road side to another place as it was resolved by the council.
Kitunzi added that the municipal council has made loss of Ug.sh.1,000,000 in revenue collection since the Bassajja market vendors don’t pay taxes.
According to Mubarak Birikwiza; a councilor representing Ward 3 they have started a process of collecting signatures that will be attached to their letter to speaker Kadaga.
